Stroke Alert Day
Delaware Valley Stroke Council, partnering with hospitals through out the area will make a strong impact on the community by raising awareness of Stroke Warning Signs and the importance of blood pressure screenings on STROKE ALERT DAY on Tuesday, May 3, 2011. Blood Pressure screenings will be conducted by medical personnel at over 75 locations in eastern Pennsylvania, Southern New Jersey and in Delaware.
Because stroke victims rarely call 911, the only way to have them reach the emergency room quickly is to educate the population about the warning symptoms of stroke and the need to call 911.
